So dub headz, I’ve been choppin’ it up with this 17 year old out of Israel who goes by the name Sticky Feet. There has been some big talent coming from there, most notably Borgore and Tomba. Sticky Feet and Tomba put out a track called “No Rest for the Wicked” an insane track that I first heard on a Downlink Halloween Mix (follow link below to download it)… so without further ado, I give you DUBliminal’s first interview of 2010 with Sticky Feet!

*Sticky Feet, tell DUBliminal why you started making music?

Well, as far as i can tell it started last year, I hung out with a friend of mine at his place and he showed me fruity loops, then we sat down the entire night drinking cola and eating chips working on some weird fucking dark tune that wasnt even dubstep. From then on I kind of started mingling around with Fruity Loops, but up until 7 months I think I didnt really take it seriously. I think that if to get to the bottom of it I started making music because I needed to make some asses shake.

*I’m sure you aren’t going to have a problem doing that when you step up to throw down, what kind of gear are you currently using?

I just recently got my sound card, Audio Kontrol 1, can’t say im disappointed. My monitors are KRK Rokit 6s, I got a Sennheiser microphone, Axiom 25 for the midi keyboard, and I occasionally use my Dynamic Stereo Headphones, Sony MDR-7508. and of course my loyal laptop, Toshiba Satellite a-300

*So with all the hype around a fairly new, up and coming genre, what is your take on dubstep?

This is a tough one.. what I’m tryin to create is a combination of various things. I have the “filthy” tunes and the “chill” tunes as most of the peeps refer to them. Man, this is a real tough question. i just make sticky dubstep.

*Sticky dubstep, eh? Can you elaborate a little on your sound?

It’s punchy, crisp, and fillled with sub, also filthy. Sometimes clean. Definitetly the combination of filthy sounds and a clean mixdown.

*I see, well being so young, can you tell us your plans for the future?

Big stuff. I’m goin on my Europe tour in May-June, got a few gigs set down, gonna be loads of fun. Besides that im working on a 2-step/chill/bass label with my friend bunny on acid, and maybe my own label sometimes mid 2010?

About releases, my first EP just came out at Bass Punch Records, its called “Stepping in the Sun”, chill stuff, hip hopish and purple. I also have a release forthcoming on Dub Cartel with my mate Whiskertwister sometime in the next few months. I have a tune coming out on Rottun with Tomba called “No rest for the Wicked”, a tune with Bunny on Acid coming on in a compilation on Ultragore, (Borgore & Ultrablacks label), and more big things coming.
