Normally you don’t hear too many rock/metal songs made in to heavy dubstep tunes, unless of course, you are Bassnectar. It is fairly uncommon to see it done, and done right to that extent. Well this remix by Trowa is definitely done right… a driving bassline with slick overtones, peppered with just the right amount of vocals, makes this tune suitable for dance floor destruction. Trowa is definitely one producer to keep an eye out for, and the fact that his tunes are on Play Me validates him as a force to be reckoned with.

Hello boys and girls! Datsik just dropped some chill bootlegs on us for your listening pleasure! I have to say that out of the 3, the remix of M83′s “We Own the Sky” is probably my favorite, as “Kids” is rinsed out at this point. I like how he goes mellow the whole track and starts to get dirtier towards the end. So there ya go heads, real proper! Enjoy and don’t forget to share!

Bassnectar New Album: Timestretch Review

Another set of hard hitting bass sure to crack walls from all corners! Nothing short of amazing, it’s no surprise we are able to treat and titillate our ears once again to the low frequencies from the brilliant mind of Lorin Ashton. Believe me when I say that Timestretch must be played at the highest volumes possible, causing neighbors everywhere to be on the landlords ass about getting your sub-sonic ass booted out of your place! But hey, it’d be worth it, right?

“Here We Go” is definitely a great track to break in the crowd, with a great build in and out of 32nds into an LFO orgasm that will tickle your brain turning your spine into a steel rod, prepare to be shocked with sound!

“Bass Head”, do you really need an explanation? This was made for the fan who plays dubstep all day… at the gym, at work, in the car- you know who I’m talking about. This one is sure to be on repeat, but wait, you don’t even have to put it on repeat because there are TWO remixes from SPL and MRK1. You can pick your jaw back up off the floor now, thanks.

“Time Stretch” is going to be a great closer, it just has that spacey feeling, spattered with some grungy sub-bass distortion, sure to have your lighters in the air after 2 minutes in. Weaving in and out of rhythmic breaks and soothing sounds, this track will have you rocking back and forth, wanting the moment to forever be suspended in time. (Hence the name TIMESTRETCH)

Just to make a quick comment, Swagga is already crazy enough, and is in every dub dj’s rotation…but when you add Downlink to the mix, (literally) it just makes the track that much better. I can tell you right now that these guy are in my top 5 favorite dub artists, and to have all 3 of their talents blended together is a rarity, (for now at least) so enjoy this great Downlink remix, he fuckin’ smashed it!
