Teleport Massive (Bassnectar Remix) Preview by Bassnectar
Another set of hard hitting bass sure to crack walls from all corners! Nothing short of amazing, it’s no surprise we are able to treat and titillate our ears once again to the low frequencies from the brilliant mind of Lorin Ashton. Believe me when I say that Timestretch must be played at the highest volumes possible, causing neighbors everywhere to be on the landlords ass about getting your sub-sonic ass booted out of your place! But hey, it’d be worth it, right?
“Here We Go” is definitely a great track to break in the crowd, with a great build in and out of 32nds into an LFO orgasm that will tickle your brain turning your spine into a steel rod, prepare to be shocked with sound!
“Bass Head”, do you really need an explanation? This was made for the fan who plays dubstep all day… at the gym, at work, in the car- you know who I’m talking about. This one is sure to be on repeat, but wait, you don’t even have to put it on repeat because there are TWO remixes from SPL and MRK1. You can pick your jaw back up off the floor now, thanks.
“Time Stretch” is going to be a great closer, it just has that spacey feeling, spattered with some grungy sub-bass distortion, sure to have your lighters in the air after 2 minutes in. Weaving in and out of rhythmic breaks and soothing sounds, this track will have you rocking back and forth, wanting the moment to forever be suspended in time. (Hence the name TIMESTRETCH)
Now that I have you drooling make sure you check back March 30th for the full release and interview!

Hey Filth Fiends! I recently had the pleasure of speaking with and interviewing the Southbound Hangers! Let me tell you, these guys are some of the most down to earth dudes I’ve gotten to chop it up with. Their base camp is in Brighton, UK (Originally the Isle Of Wight) and SBH have let us into their world of dub, giving us their take on the genre, their gear, plans for the future, and even some words of wisdom for you up and comers! They put together the mix below EXCLUSIVELY for DUBliminal.COM! You won’t find this unique line up of filthy LFO’s and Sub-bass anywhere else on the net! Most of the tracks are unreleased from SBH so I encourage you to start/download this mix, and let the bass consume you while you get to know the bad boys from Brighton…
Southbound Hangers- DUBliminal.COM EXCLUSIVE MIX by DUBliminalCOM
*Track List Below
>Names/Age?
Shaun 23
Max 24
> Where did you guys first hear Dubstep, what track was it, and what was
your reaction?
EEERRR The truth is we cant remember its been that long, although we would love to come up with a great answer, probably DMZ, Hatcha?
> How long have you been making Dubstep and what did you produce before
Dubstep came along?
As SBH about a year and a half
Shaun: About 4 years. I made DNB, Grime and Hip hop.
Max: Not long before we started working as SBH, I pissed about making sound installations??
> Were you guys producers or DJ’s first?
DJs. We’ve both been DJing “VINYL BABY” about seven years in the early days mixing Garage, Jungle and DNB..
> What is your current set-up?
I Mac, Logic 9, midi keyboard, Edirol Audio Interface, Adam A7 monitors, SE Electronics condenser mic, USB tea warmer and various other usefull contraptions like chairs, a desk, sometimes we even use a pen and paper…
> What’s process do you undergo when you guys work together to make a track?
All depends on the style of the track, but we normally work together from start to finish, although Shaun tends do alot of the mix-downs, EQ’s etc…
> What do you think makes Dubstep stand out from all the other genres?
There aren’t many constraints, it draws from so many good styles of music and Dubstep is already developing its own sub-genres. A lot of electronic music is quite stagnent at the moment….. plus the people who listen/make it are all nuts!!! Its been around for a while but its still in the early stages and theres a lot to come from Dubstep.
> How would you describe your sound?
To be honest it’s quiet hard for us to describe our sound,we always try to give our tracks some comedy value but a lot of people are saying its a kind of industrial and some our describing it as future dub with a big DNB influence, but the best way to describe it would be to say Its like when someone follows through… Nasty but quite funny. (if its not you!)
> Where do you see Dubstep going in 2010?
To the bank!! Hopefully… LoL! But seriously, we can see Dubstep really progressing, it already has and its absolutely taking over this year. There’s so many huge artists jumping on it now its starting to become very popular, a lot of pop music is sneaking Dubstep beats in now so and we think its gonna make a big impact to the music scene as we know it.
> What are your plans for the future?
We’ve got a collab with Funtcase called “Wizard sleeve” coming out on Prime Audio. We also have a Southbound Hangers Vs Funtcase EP coming coming out on Shift and another track called “Heavy like Metal” coming out on Perk records. We’re also in talks with Marlow about signing to his label “no comply”.
As for future projects were working on collab’s with Riskotheque, Marchmellow, Funtcase and a sick American artist called Druley. Were continuing to do a lot of work with our MC “Raff” but were linking up with some other amazing vocalists and artists this year too so there should be some great new sounds coming out of it all hopefully.
> What has been your favorite experience so far as the Southbound Hangers?
Just hearing our tunes being played out by people we look up to on radio and at club nights is pretty cool. We do have a good time when we play out, but definitely some of our best experiences have been playing for Dubnium In Bournemouth (UK). Its such an amazing atmosphere there and they put so much effort into the nights its an experience not to be missed! The free beer and food is good, too!!
> What artists are you currently listening to?
Listening to a lot of 2nd 2 None’s stuff, Zinc’s Rinse FM podcast is on repeat, Redlight, Riskotheque, Marlow, Marchmellow, Funtcase, Noisia, Joy Orbison, The Bees, Zion Train and loads of other stuff. Too much to mention.
> Who are SBH influenced by?
Benga, Mala, 16bit, Funtcase,Bar 9 (too many more to mention). Also a lot of other things in life, friends and family. We have new influences every day.
> What advice would you give for up and coming Dubstep producers?
Put the hours in, be open minded, try and make music that you want to hear yourself, and have fun.
> Anything you’d like to add?
Thanks to everyone thats listening and all the people that are supporting us. We’d also like to add a bit more reverb to the flux capasitor.
Thanks guys! Big Ups to the Southbound Hangers for putting together this FILTHY mix for our DUBliminal.COM readers! Show some respect and HIT THEM UP over at their MYSPACE and their TWITTER

Well dub headz, I knew it was coming sooner or later, it was just a matter of time. Joel put this out on the tweet deck yesterday. He has pretty much conquered every genre of dance music he has tried but so far I am thinking he should stick to what he knows best. I know he can make it better, so I’ll be anxious to hear the finished product but I think there is a lot of hype coming around to him just for the simple fact that it is Mau5, not the quality of music. There are plenty of other filthy tracks out there that surpass what he has put out from underground headz so we’ll see what happens. Judge for yourself… I give you Mau5tep (in progress of course)
